Young Harris, Ga. | The Young Harris College Cross Country and Track & Field program is proud to announce the hiring of Ryan Glenn as an Assistant Coach.
Head Coach Matt Logan said, "Ryan was exactly the kind of candidate we were looking for. He has great energy, the desire for growth, and he knows what it's like to help grow and manage a young sprints squad. With Coach Glenn taking the lead with the sprinters, Coach DiCicco will remain my right-hand man with the distance and middle-distance runners. I will continue to coach the Multi's and field event athletes. We have a young and hungry staff. From day one we have felt Coach Glenn's impact on our group. It's great to have two young enthusiastic coaches to really make me feel like the old guy around here."
Ryan Glenn is from Columbia, South Carolina, and is a graduate from Converse University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Child & Family Studies. His collegiate track & field career got its start at Converse University, where he served as a team captain for four years. In his time in the sport of track & field, Glenn has received many leadership and athletic accolades that served as a testament to his abilities on and off the track.
Statement from Coach Glenn: "I am truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to join the Young Harris College track and field program. I'm excited to work alongside Head Coach Logan and my fellow assistant coach as we continue to build and strengthen this team. As the speed & power events coach, my passion for coaching goes beyond performance alone. I am committed to helping our student-athletes develop discipline, confidence, and habits that will serve them well both on and off the track. Success is important, but building strong, resilient individuals will always be the priority. I look forward to creating an environment that challenges our athletes to grow, compete, and take pride in the process every day. I'm thankful to Coach Logan and the Young Harris athletics staff for their trust and for welcoming me into the Mountain Lion family. Now let's get to work."
Coming from a competitive division II track & field team, Glenn brings understanding of the processes, environment, and culture it takes to build a successful team. His athletic journey has been highlighted by leadership, team achievements marked by a 2025 Conference Carolinas men's team championship title in indoor track. As well as bringing a dedication to the sport that can't be taught and was acquired from pure experience.
This marks Glenn's first official collegiate coaching position although he has been heavily involved in the sport for ten years. With this comes leadership experience at all levels, along with a drive and passion for track & field makes Glenn someone you want on the staff to make an immediate impact on the growing program and on the student-athletes.
