YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College sophomore Ryland Hunley has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Southeast Region Team following an outstanding indoor season for the Mountain Lions.
Hunley's All-Region selection was highlighted by his Conference Carolinas Heptathlon Championship performance, where he scored 4,521 points to claim the conference title. During the championship meet, Hunley set personal records in all seven heptathlon events while delivering the best multi-event performances in program history.
Earlier in the season, Hunley competed in the heptathlon at the Centre Indoor Invite & Multis, finishing fourth overall with 4,165 points.
Hunley also delivered strong performances in individual events throughout the season. At the Mondo College Invitational, the sophomore posted one of the top field marks of the day for Young Harris by clearing 1.83 meters (6-0) in the high jump to finish seventh overall. Hunley also competed in the 60-meter dash at the meet.
