GREENVILLE, S.C. | The Young Harris College men's outdoor track & field team has been selected eighth in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Men's Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday.

The preseason poll, which is voted on by the conference's head coaches, placed the Mountain Lions eighth with 94 points heading into the outdoor season.

Young Harris will feature several key returners this spring, highlighted by sophomore multi-event standout Ryland Hunley along with sophomore Xander Potter and senior Wyatt Whipp, who were named among the Conference Carolinas Athletes to Watch.

Hunley is coming off a standout indoor season where he captured the Conference Carolinas heptathlon title with a personal-record 4,521 points performance, setting personal records in all seven events. His strong showing earned him USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region honors and positioned him as one of the league's top multi-event athletes heading into the outdoor campaign.

The Mountain Lions will look to build momentum throughout the spring as they prepare for the 2026 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for April 23–25 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
