YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions took on CSU on Sunday (Feb. 9) afternoon at The Zell and closed out the weekend four game series with a victory. Led by the arm of Freshman LHP Austin Ritchie and the extremely hot bat of Kade Smallwood, YH had too much fire power in their rolodex for the Cougars to overcome.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• Austin Ritchie (W) put together a strong 7.1 innings outing that included a scoreless stretch of seven innings; Ritchie overpowered six CSU batters and surrendered four runs. 

• Kade Smallwood held the torch for the Mountain Lions offensive production once more, going 3-4 from the left side of the plate, with a two-run bomb, while driving in three YH runs.  

• Kyle Chatham picked up two RBI on one swing of the bat; placing the ball over the left-field wall and into corn creek. 

• Jeremy Begora was the final Mountain Lion to join the home run party. 

• Cody Ferguson went 1-4 at the plate, but his solo hit was a three-run HR to bring the Cougars back to life. 

• CSU put up a five-run top of the eighth inning, bringing them within five of the Mountain Lions. 

• Matthew Pearce and Sam Neal (SV) came in to slam the door shut on Columbus State, coming out on top, 7-5.
