MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | Young Harris battled until the final buzzer but came up just short, dropping an 84–79 decision to Georgia College on Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 31) at the Centennial Center. Player of the Game honors go to Carl Cleveland, who led the Mountain Lions with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds.
With the loss, Young Harris moves to 7–5 overall and 3–1 in Conference Carolinas, while Georgia College improves to 9–3 and 4–0 in the Peach Belt Conference.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Carl Cleveland paced Young Harris with 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting and added 10 rebounds for his double-double.
- Cameron Bleshoy was perfect from the field (6-of-6), finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
- Justin Payne contributed 15 points and went a perfect 9-of-9 from the free-throw line.
- Christian Drummer chipped in 13 points and five rebounds, while Kelvin Hunter added six points off the bench.
- Young Harris shot 44.6 percent from the field, 20 percent from three, and 80.6 percent at the line.
- Georgia College was led by C.J. Jones, who scored 24 points and hit five three-pointers, while Khalil Green added 21 points and nine free throws.
- The Mountain Lions dominated points in the paint (30–16) and grabbed 34 rebounds, but Georgia College's 12 three-pointers proved to be the difference.
- Young Harris scored 10 second-chance points and converted 25-of-31 free throws, but could not overcome Georgia College's hot shooting from deep (54.5 percent).
