Pembroke, N.C. | Young Harris College Men's Basketball opened Conference Carolinas play Saturday afternoon with a 78-54 loss to UNC Pembroke at the English E. Jones Center. The Mountain Lions moved to 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in league action after a contest that featured seven ties in the first half. 

Young Harris trailed 36-30 at halftime after a competitive opening period but UNC Pembroke pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Mountain Lions 42-24 to secure the win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Carl Cleveland led Young Harris with 15 points and four rebounds while going 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. 

• Christian Drummer added 10 points and three assists. 

• Cameron Bleshoy was efficient inside, scoring eight points on 4-of-4 shooting and grabbing nine rebounds. 

• Rylan Muniz chipped in eight points, including two three-pointers, and Willie Jones added six points and six rebounds. 

• The Mountain Lions shot 35.4% from the field and 72.7% from the free-throw line while pulling down 33 rebounds. 

• Young Harris scored 20 points in the paint and added 15 points off the bench. 

• UNC Pembroke was led by Quay Watson, who scored 20 points.
