GREENVILLE, S.C. | The Young Harris College men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish fifth in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll. 

The Mountain Lions, under the leadership of head coach Branden Geldart, are aiming to build on a 6-9 overall record last season that included a trip to the Conference Carolinas Tournament. YHC looks to improve their standing after being selected fifth in the preseason poll with 36 points. Belmont Abbey College was picked to win the conference with 61 points and five first-place votes. 

Players to Watch:
The Mountain Lions return a strong core of talent for the 2025 season. Senior defensemen Ben Soenen and Kieran Isbister, both from New Westminster, British Columbia, anchor the defense. Soenen earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2024, as well as recognition on the CSC Academic All-District Team and the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. Isbister, also a 2024 First Team All-Conference selection, brings experience and leadership to the backline. On the offensive end, senior attackman Tommy Chriszt from Kennesaw, Georgia, will be a key player for the Mountain Lions as they aim to increase scoring output and make another deep push in the conference tournament. 

The 2025 Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Championship will begin with quarterfinal games on April 22 at campus sites, with the semifinals and final set to take place at the University of Mount Olive in North Carolina from April 25-27. 

Young Harris is focused on exceeding preseason expectations and making a strong run in the championship race.
