MORROW, Ga. | The Mountain Lions women's soccer team took on the Lakers of Clayton State University on Wednesday (Sept. 18) evening at Laker Field. After the nearly three-hour long bus ride, the YHC women's soccer squad took on a tough opponent in the undefeated Lakers. CSU scored 32 minutes into the first half, but not long after, Shania Harris evened the score up at one. The Lakers added a goal late in the first half to take a one-goal lead into the halftime break.
The second half featured 30 minutes of scoreless soccer, until the Lakers struck again to take their largest lead of the match, 3-1. Young Harris peppered the Lakers late, and with under two minutes left in the match, Elin Eriksson found the back of the net to get the match back within one goal. The Lakers would play just under two more minutes of lock down defense to thwart the Mountain Lions comeback efforts.
