Young Harris, GA| The Young Harris College men's lacrosse team challenged Conference Carolinas opponent Lees-McRae College on Saturday (April 6) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field in Young Harris. LMC stayed close with YHC in the first quarter, but after the first buzzer, the Mountain Lions attacked the Bobcats offensively, and were up by six at halftime. From there on out, Young Harris maintained a safe distance away from Lees-McRae, scoring three goals in each of the last two periods to win the game, 16-8.
Young Harris improved to 5-7 overall, winning their second game in a row, and are now 2-3 in Conference Carolinas games. Lees-McRae fell to 3-6 overall and 0-5 in Conference Carolinas games. The Mountain Lions return to action next Saturday (Apr. 13) afternoon against Chowan University, for senior day at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field in Young Harris, Georgia.Â

Tommy Chriszt scored three first half goals for the Mountain Lions and finished with four goals and five assists for nine points in the win.Â

Wyatt Peek, Grady Stokes, and David Traywick each scored three goals for the Mountain Lions, with Stokes adding three assists to finish with six points for YHC.Â

Jacob Haas recorded 13 ground ball pickups and won 17 of 27 faceoffs.Â

The Bobcats leading scorer was Tyler Flannelly, who scored three goals and added two assists for five total points in LMC's losing effort.Â

Thomas Castiglia picked up his second win in a row in goal for the Mountain Lions, as he recorded 12 saves and surrendered just eight goals.Â
