BELMONT, NC| The Mountain Lions take the series opener, picking up a win over Belmont Abbey College this evening (April 26th) in a conference matchup. Young Harris continued to score runs at a high rate, tallying ten hits and eight runs to collect the win.
The Mountain Lions move to 38-9 overall and are 22-6 in Conference Carolinas. The Crusaders move to 22-23 overall and are 14-14 in Conference Carolinas. YHC will return to action tomorrow (April 27th) at Belmont Abbey for a doubleheader to finish off the series.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· Young Harris takes down Belmont Abbey 8-6.
· The Mountain Lions struck first, scoring Jeremy Begora and Drew Bray on a Jack Enrico double in the first inning.
· Belmont Abbey responded with two runs in the first on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single from Jack Boyles.
· James Basham launched a two-run home run in the second inning to score Jarrett Ford and make the score 4-2.
· An Aengus Adams double cut the YHC lead to 4-3 in the bottom half of the second inning.
· Jeremy Begora gave Young Harris a 5-3 lead in the fourth inning, scoring Drew Bray on an RBI single.
· Belmont Abbey would score one in the fourth to make the score 5-4.
· Jace Wilson brought home Marco Colina on a double in the fifth inning to give YHC a 6-4 lead.
· Steven Spell knocked in James Basham and Jace Wilson on a two RBI single to give the Mountain Lions an 8-4 lead in the eighth inning.
· A Caleb Burr two RBI double cut the Young Harris lead to 8-6 in the eighth inning.
· Zach Murray pitched a complete game on the mound to collect the win for the Mountain Lions, striking out six batters over nine innings.
