Young Harris, GA| The Mountain Lions softball team has won six of their last seven games, as they fell to Emmanuel University, 12-4, in game one and took game two in thrilling fashion. The Mountain Lions honored their nine seniors in a pregame ceremony: Trinity Aycock, Hannah Carey, Jordan Ratner, Hannah Rizzuto, Kylie Ferguson, Sarah Morris, Teresa Dixon, and Morgan Johnson.Â
Quoting Head Coach Jessie Homesley:Â
"I'm so proud of the way our team battled after game 1 to get a split on the day. Grace pitched a great game and we put together some gritty at bats in the bottom of the 7th. Bailee, Grace, HC and Gracie did a great job of passing the bat to give Shelby an opportunity to walk it off with a ball off the centerfield wall"Â
Young Harris moves to 27-17 overall and 14-6 in Conference Carolinas games. Emmanuel moved to 26-21 overall and 13-9 in conference games. The Mountain Lions will hit the road on Tuesday (Apr. 16) for an afternoon doubleheader with Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee.Â
