YOUNG HARRIS, GA| The Mountain Lions start conference play 1-0 in their first matchup against the Erskine Flying Fleet (Feb 23rd). Zach Murray picks up another win on seven IP and Dylan Beck picks up another save as the Fleet bats remained quiet.
The Mountain Lions advance to 11-1 overall and start off 1-0 in Conference Carolinas. The Flying Fleet move to 7-7 overall and are 0-1 in Conference Carolinas. YHC will return to the Zell B. Miller Field tomorrow for games two and three of the series (Feb 24th). The first pitches of tomorrow's double header are to take place at 1PM and 4PM.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· After a scoreless first, Jeremy Begora (3-4) put the Mountain Lions on the board with a solo HR to left field in the second inning.
· Erskine's only run of the evening came from Dale Francis who singled up the middle in the sixth for an RBI.
· Marco Colina and Steven Spell (3-4) added on in their half of the sixth, collectively putting up three RBIs.
· In the top of the seventh, Steven Spell made a great bare-handed put out on a dribbler down the third base line.
· In the eighth inning, Jackson Kemp hit a SAC fly to center field to bring home the final run for the Mountain Lions.
· Zach Murray had another great outing on seven innings pitched. He only gave up one run and totaled seven K's. Murray starts the season 2-0.
· Dylan Beck picked up the save for Young Harris after not allowing a hit and recording two strikeouts.
· Erskine had four hits to Young Harris' 12.
