FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's basketball team came up short in a 65-63 battle against Emmanuel University on Wednesday night. The Lions outscored the Mountain Lions 36 to 25 in the second half to squeak out their win. Young Harris had the final shot from beyond the arc but could not knock it down. 

The Mountain Lions moved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in Conference Carolinas play; Emmanuel improved to 4-4 overall and 3-0 in conference play. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• Carl Cleveland paced the Mountain Lions with 14 points, shooting 5-11 from the floor, including eight rebounds.  

• Karl Chavis contributed 13 points and three rebounds. 

• Chris Dees (17) and Tavarus Webb (16) led Emmanuel in points scored. 

• Young Harris finished the game shooting 43.4% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc, while scoring 24 points off the bench. 

• YHC spent 21:53 with the lead, while Emmanuel played ahead for 15:22. 

• The Mountain Lions had the last second shot all set up, but Deptula could not convert from way downtown.
