Mountain Lions to Honor Twelve Seniors at Today’s Match

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Ahead of today's regular season home finale against North Greenville, the Young Harris College men's soccer team will honor the following eleven seniors and student assistant Sam Shelley.

"I want to thank this group for their commitment and class on and off the field," said head coach Dean Grey. "They have all been a top tier representation of Young Harris College and the Soccer Program throughout their careers here. I have no doubt they will be successful in the professional world, whether it be on or off the field. Whether you're graduating this Fall or Spring 25, know that I now consider you one of my friends. Love you all and all the best."

#2, Defender, Ivar Na Aga
Ivar Na Aga, from Adda, Norway, has spent two seasons in the Enchanted Valley. Ivar has played 2,174 minutes, with 27 starts as a defender for YHC. He has recorded 18 shots with 12 shots on goal; adding 5 goals and 1 assist for 11 points. Aga was also named to the 2023 Conference Carolinas All-Conference Second Team as a defender. Ivar is a Business Administration Major, and he plans to pursue a masters degree after Young Harris. Ladies and gentlemen, Ivar Na Aga!

#32, Midfielder, Logan Allard
Logan Allard, Logan, from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been in the Enchanted Valley for one season. Allard has spent 26 minutes on the pitch this season in three games played; firing off one shot. Logan is a Finance Major and an Accounting Minor. His plans after YHC are to play at another school and get his masters. Ladies and gentlemen, Logan Allard!

#27, Goalkeeper, Ian Aycock
Ian Aycock, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has played in 16 games with 13 starts as a goalkeeper for the Mountain Lions in two seasons. Ian has spent 1,258 minutes in goal, recording 44 saves, a goals average against of 1.43, four shutouts, and an overall record of 7-3-3. Aycock has also been named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll twice and earned the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. Ladies and Gentlemen, Ian Aycock!

#29, Forward, Payton Barrett
Peyton, from Hiawassee, Georgia, has been in Young Harris for four seasons. Barrett played in 12 minutes of match time. Barrett was named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll in both 2022 and 2023. Peyton is a history major with a piano minor. His plans for post-graduation are to work at Barrett Insurance with his father.

#5, Defender, Sacha De Corte
Sacha, reigning from Vlezen-Beek, Belgium, has spent three seasons in the Enchanted Valley. De Corte has started in 32 matches, with 2,725 minutes played as a defender for the Mountain Lions. He has recorded six shots with five SOG, with 3 goals for 6 points, scoring 2 game-winning goals. Sacha has also been named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll twice, named PBC Defender of the week, 2nd Team All-PBC Team as a Defender in 2022, 2nd Team All-Conference Carolinas Team as a Defender in 2023, and Mountain Lion of the Week. Sacha is a Management Major, and he plans to get a master's in organizational leadership at Jacksonville University.

#14, Forward, Jamie Lapsley
Jamie, from Stirling, Scotland, has played in the Enchanted Valley for four seasons. He has logged 2,005 minutes as a forward for the Mountain Lions and played in 56 matches along the way. Jamie has recorded 56 shots; with 36 shots on goal, 15 goals and 5 assists; for 35 points. Lapsley is also 1 for 1 on PK attempts and has 3 Game-Winning Goals. Lapsley has been named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll, earned First Team All-Conference Carolinas Forward for the 2023 season, and was named Mountain Lion of the Week this year! Jamie is a management major and plans to go back home to work and play after Young Harris. Ladies and Gentlemen, Jamie Lapsley!

#11, Forward, Sergio Llopart
 Sergio has been with the Mountain Lions for four seasons. Sergio has played in 55 games over four seasons, with 34 starts, and a total of 2,689 minutes spent on
the pitch as a forward for the Mountain Lions. Llopart has recorded 64 shots with 33 shots on goal; recording 6 goals and 9 assists for 21 points. Sergio has also earned The D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, The PBC Presidential Honor Roll two times, The PBC Team of Academic Distinction, and The CSC Academic All-District Team. Sergio majors in Theater Design and minors in production; after YHC, he plans to move back to Europe and follow his passion to play soccer at the professional level

#22, Midfielder, Patrick McGrath
Patrick, from Milton Keynes, England, is a Sports and Recreation Major and he plans to move back to England to become a personal trainer. McGrath has been in the Enchanted Valley for two seasons and was named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll.

#29, Forward, Jorge Oteiza
Jorge from Santiago, Chile, is a double major in Business Administration and Business Analytics. His plans after graduation are to get rich and be happy. He has spent two seasons in the Enchanted Valley. Oteiza has compiled 617 minutes on the pitch as a Forward for the Mountain Lions Men's soccer team; logging 18 games played, with 3 starts. Jorge has taken 15 shots, with 9 shots on goal; Scoring 3 goals and adding 1 assist for 7 points, and two Game-Winning Goals this season.

#25, Defender, Daniel Trigg
Daniel, from Puerto del Carmen, Spain, has been in the Enchanted Valley for two seasons. He has spent 221 minutes on the pitch as a defender and has played in six matches with one start; recorded one assist along the way. Trigg earned a spot on the PBC Presidential Honor Roll. Daniel is a Business Administration Major and plans to get an internship with his OPT and go to Grad school to get his MBA.

#8, Midfielder, Charlie Wilde
Charlie, out of Derby, England, has spent four seasons in the Enchanted Valley. Charlie has played 3,309 minutes as a midfielder and started in 34 matches. He has recorded 42 shots; with 22 shots on goal, 5 goals and 12 assists for 22 points, and scored two game-winning goals. Charlie is a Business Administration Major, and his plans after graduation are to spend a year working in America.

Sam Shelley, Student Assistant
Sam is a sports and recreation major, and after YHC he plans to go to Grad School to get his PHD and play soccer. Head coach Dean Grey says, "We first want to recognize a fantastic human being who has such a massive passion for the sport and YHC men's soccer. Whether it's early mornings in the spring setting up drills at 6am in freezing temps in the dark before anyone arrives or steaming hot afternoon fall sessions sprinting back and forth filling up water bottles making sure the guys are taken care of, no task is too big or small for our Sammy!
