YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's soccer program added another chapter to its historic 2025 season, as four Mountain Lions earned spots on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Southeast Region teams. Senior midfielder Thomas Kleinpenning, senior forward Leho Le Louarn, and sophomore forward Filip Zander were named to the First Team, while junior midfielder Bjarne Renner secured a place on the Second Team. These honors come on the heels of YHC's Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship, a 15-2-3 record, and an NCAA Tournament appearance.
Kleinpenning capped off a remarkable season by earning D2CCA Southeast Region Player of the Year and Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year honors. The Ulfts, Netherlands native led the Mountain Lions with 37 points, scoring 12 goals and adding 13 assists, ranking second nationally in NCAA Division II in both assists and total points. Starting all 20 matches, Kleinpenning logged 1,599 minutes, scored four game-winning goals, and posted a .316 shot percentage. His ability to create and finish chances made him one of the most dynamic midfielders in the country.
Joining him on the First Team is senior forward Leho Le Louarn, who paced the Mountain Lions with 13 goals and added six assists for 32 points. Le Louarn appeared in 19 matches, starting 18, and delivered in clutch moments with four game-winning goals. His combination of speed and finishing ability helped YHC maintain one of the most potent offenses in the region.
Sophomore forward Filip Zander rounds out the trio of First Team selections after an impressive campaign that saw him score 10 goals and dish out 10 assists for 30 points. Zander's efficiency stood out, posting a .333 shot percentage and a .700 shots-on-goal mark across 20 matches. His versatility and creativity in the attacking third made him a constant threat to opposing defenses.
On the Second Team, senior midfielder Bjarne Renner earned recognition for his steady presence and leadership in the center of the pitch. Renner started all 20 matches, logging 1,598 minutes, and contributed five goals and six assists for 16 points. His ability to control tempo and provide defensive stability was crucial to YHC's success.
Conference Carolinas Head Coach of the Year Dean Grey and his squad continue to set new standards, with these individual honors underscoring a season defined by teamwork, resilience, and elite talent. With Kleinpenning, Le Louarn, Zander, and Renner leading the charge, the Mountain Lions firmly established themselves among the Southeast Region's best.
