Young Harris College Athletics

DUE WEST, SC| The Mountain Lions hit the road for their first road test with the Flying Fleet of Erskine College today (Sept. 8th). Young Harris will return home victorious, taking down Erskine 2-0 in the matchup.  

Young Harris now moves to 2-0-2 on the season and begin Conference Carolinas play 2-0. 

YHC got off to a hot start, scoring two goals in the first half to take control of the game. Filip Zander got the Mountain Lions on the board in the 33rd minute, finding the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. As time was expiring at the end of the first half, Zander found Leo Skogsfjord who took the pass and converted to give Young Harris a 2-0 lead. Defense would prevail in the second half with both teams going scoreless to preserve a Mountain Lion victory. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• Young Harris attempted 27 shots with 16 on target compared to 12 shots with five on target for Erskine. 

• YHC recorded two corner kick opportunities. 

• Each team committed eight fouls in the match. 

• Tommaso Morsoletto stood tall in goal for the Mountain Lions, recording five saves in the match.
