HARDEEVILLE, S.C. | Young Harris College and the University of South Carolina-Beaufort spilt a Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader Friday (April 7) afternoon at Richard Gray Stadium.
USCB won the opener 3-0 before the Mountain Lions stormed back to claim game two 8-1. YHC improved to 14-26 overall and to 6-14 in the PBC, while the Sand Sharks fell to 11-29 and 3-16. The two teams will attempt to play the rubber game of the series Saturday (April 8) at noon.

- Addie Heal had an RBI single and Hughes added a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead in the first.
- The Mountain Lions scored three more runs in the third inning to open up a 5-0 lead. Carey started the scoring with an RBI double and Shelby Duncan drove in a run with a single up the middle.
- Grace Young laced a triple down the left field line to give YHC a 6-1 lead in the fifth.
- YHC closed out the scoring with a two-run single up the middle an inning later.
- Brown, Heal and Young had two hits each as the Mountain Lions had nine hits.
- Young (4-6) earned the win as she scattered four hits in 6.1 innings.
