COLUMBUS, Ga. | No. 8 Flagler College defeated No. 47 Young Harris College 4-0 in the first round of the 2023 Peach Belt Conference Men's Tennis Tournament Friday (April 21) afternoon at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
Flagler improved to 15-5, while the Mountain Lions fell to 10-11. YHC, which is ranked eighth in the latest NCAA Division II Regional Rankings, must wait until Monday (April 24) evening to see if its season continues when the entire field for the NCAA Division II tournament is announced.
INSIDE THE SCORESHEET:
- Rodrigo Mendoza won the lone set for the Mountain Lions as he took the first set of his No. 2 singles match by a score of 6-4, but Flagler clinched before the match could finish.
- Gavin Thomas after dropping his first set was leading 3-2 in the second set at No. 5 singles when the match was clinched.
