Georgia College takes series finale from Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Georgia College & State University had 12 hits as the Bobcats took the Peach Belt Conference baseball series from Young Harris College 7-2 Sunday (March 5) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field.

The Bobcats improved to 3-11 overall and to 3-3 in the Peach Belt, while the 30th-ranked Mountain Lions fell to 13-6 and 6-3. Young Harris travels to Huntsville, Alabama, Tuesday (March 7) for a 4 p.m. Central time contest against The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Young Harris jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second after Steven Spell connected on his first homer of the season to right field.
  • After Georgia College took a 5-1 lead, the Mountain Lions added an unearned run.
  • Jeremy Begora had two of the five hits for YHC.
