AMERICUS, Ga. | Georgia Southwestern State University defeated Young Harris College 10-2 (six innings) in the Peach Belt Conference softball series finale Saturday (March 25) afternoon at Lady Canes Field.
The Hurricanes improved to 26-8 overall and 9-3 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions fell to 13-22 and 5-10. YHC returns to action next Saturday (April 1) when they host No. 1-ranked University of North Georgia in a noon PBC doubleheader at the YHC Softball Field.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Georgia Southwestern scored in every inning but the first and second inning.
- YHC took a 1-0 lead in the second on Hannah Carey's team leading 12 homer of the season.
- The Mountain Lions scored their other run in the sixth. Bailee Brown led off with a triple and scored on Grace Young's RBI single.
- Kylie Ferguson (5-10) absorbed the loss for the Mountain Lions.
- Brown had two of the six YHC hits.
