ROME, Ga. | Young Harris College opened its Peach Belt Conference men's lacrosse schedule with a 17-11 win over Shorter University Saturday (March 25) afternoon at Ben Brady Field.
The Mountain Lions won their second consecutive match as they improved to 3-8 overall and to 1-0 in the Peach Belt, while the Hawks slipped to 2-7 and 0-1. YHC will return to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field next Saturday (April 1) when they host Flagler College in an 11 a.m. PBC match.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Tim Blanch scored four goals for the Mountain Lions, who jumped out to an early 6-2 lead. Wyatt Peek, David Traywick, Tommy Chriszt, Hayden Headrick and Colburn Connelly each scored twice, while Jacob Haas, Ben Soenen and Lukus Olson had one goal apiece.
- Chriszt added four assists, while Hunter Stagg had two. Peek, Gunnar Fagerstrom and Dylan Young posted an assist each.
- YHC outshot Shorter 59-25, while the Mountain Lions held margins in ground balls (40-25) and face-offs (26-6).
- Jacob Haas won 20 face-offs, while Evan Anderson claimed six more.
- Haas won 10 ground balls, while Soenen corralled six more and Peek added four more.
- Soenen caused five turnovers, while Kieran Isbister had four.
- Dylan Wilbur had four saves in the YHC goal.
