YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Flagler College got three goals each from Trace McDonald and Antanas Mikuzis as they held off Young Harris College 16-10 in a Peach Belt Conference men's lacrosse match Saturday (April 1) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Saints improved to 4-8 overall and to 2-0 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions saw their two-match win streak snapped as they fell to 3-9 and 1-1. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (April 8) with a 1 p.m. PBC match against Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Flagler jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter, but the Mountain Lions closed the margin to a 7-5 advantage for the Saints.
- Flagler took control of the match as they outscored Young Harris 6-1 in the third quarter as they extended its lead to 13-6.
- David Traywick, Colburn Connelly and Wyatt Peek each scored twice for the Mountain Lions, while Dylan Young, Tim Blanch, Kieran Isbister and Lukus Olson had one apiece.
- Young led YHC with three assists, while Tommy Chriszt, Ben Soenen and Traywick had one each.
- Jacob Haas recorded 13 face-off wins to go along with his eight ground balls.
- Isbister corralled four ground balls for the Mountain Lions, while Soenen, Dane Dompier and Jeremy Rice had two apiece.
- Soenen also caused two turnovers for Young Harris.
- Dylan Wilbur stopped 16 shots in the Mountain Lion goal.
