YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Reggie Raynor and Phillip Burwell combined for 44 points to lead Georgia Southwestrtn State University past Young Harris College 82-68 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday (Feb. 25) afternoon at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.
The Hurricanes improved to 14-13 overall and to 7-11 in the PBC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 19-9 and 9-9. Young Harris earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming PBC Tournament and will face No. 4 seed Lander University Thursday (March 2) in Augusta, Georgia.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Prior to the game, the Mountain Lions honored their four seniors - Lenny Pradia, Carter Berish, Christian Schach and Josh Petteno.
- Karl Chavis led the Mountain Lions with a double double as he scored 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
- Pradia added 16 points and six assists, while Schach added nine points.
- Kennedy Willis pulled down seven rebounds, while Paul Hosey had six more.
- Georgia Southwestern led 37-34 at the half and extended its lead to as many as 17 points (82-65) as they shot 60 percent (18-of-30) from the field over the game's final 20 minutes.
