AUGUSTA, Ga. | Jacob Cooper scored 19 points to lead No. 4 seed Lander University past No. 5 seed Young Harris College 80-67 in the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference Men's Basketball Tournament Thursday (March 2) afternoon at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Mountain Lions, who are ranked No. 10 in the latest Southeast regional ranking, ended their season at 19-10. The 19 wins are the second most in program history since men's basketball was restarted in 2010. It also marked a 13-game improvement over the 2021-22 season. Lander improved to 21-8.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Lenny Pradia led the Mountain Lions with 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the floor, including hitting three three-pointers.
- Karl Chavis added 18 points, while Josh Petteno tossed in 12 more.
- Chavis, Petteno and Cameron Bleshoy each grabbed four rebounds for the Mountain Lions.
- Lander, which led wire-to-wire, pulled away in the second half as they shot 66.7 percent (18-of-27)Â from the floor.
- The game marked the final one in a YHC uniform for Pradia, Petteno, Christian Schach and Carter Berish.
