YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Gavin Thomas' three-set victory clinched a 4-3 non-conference men's tennis victory for Young Harris College over Carson-Newman University Sunday (Feb. 19) afternoon at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Mountain Lions improved to 6-2, while the Eagles fell to 1-4. Young Harris returns to the courts for a home match Feb. 28 when they host Reinhardt University at 4 p.m.
INSIDE THE SCORESHEETS:
- After Carson-Newman took three of the first four singles matches, the Eagles led 3-2.Â
- Chimo Minguez Ribera tied the match up at 3 with a 6-2, 7-6 (4) at No. 3 singles.
- The match came down to No. 5 singles where Thomas picked up a 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 win for the Mountain Lions.
