AIKEN, S.C. | Karon Boyd led the University of South Carolina-Aiken with 14 points as the Pacers recorded a 66-57 Peach Belt Conference men's basketball victory over Young Harris College Saturday (Feb, 18) at the Convocation Center.
The Pacers improved to 19-7 overall and to 12-4 in the league, while the Mountain Lions slipped to 19-7 and 9-7. YHC stays on the road for a 7:30 p.m. PBC game against Lander University Wednesday (Feb. 22) in Greenwood, South Carolina.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Kennedy Willis scored the opening basket 47 seconds into the game for the Mountain Lions, but they never led again.
- USC Aiken led by as many as seven points in the first half, but the Mountain Lions pulled within a point (27-26) after a Karl Chavis jumper in the paint with 2:27 before halftime.
- The Pacers led 32-26 at the half and extended their lead to as many as 16 points (60-44) in the second half.
- Lenny Pradia led the Mountain Lions with 17 points, while Nate Dunlop pumped in 12 more.Â
- Chavis finished with nine points and grabbed six rebounds. Willis finished with six rebounds.
