YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College softball team swept a Peach Belt Conferece series from Augusta University with a 6-0 win in game three Saturday (April 16) afternoon at the YHC Softball Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 21-16 overall and 12-9 in the Peach Belt while the Jaguars fell to 13-25 and 2-16. YHC returns to action Friday (April 22
) with a 5 p.m. contest against Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- YHC honored its six seniors - Ashlee Bell, Karah Straub, Sam Davis, Ashley Autuori, Brookelyn Sweeney, and Morgan Curley - prior to the game.
- Curley was one single shy from hitting the cycle on Senior Day in today's game. Curley was 4-for-4 at the plate with a double in the first inning, a triple in the third and sixth, and a solo home run to right center in the fifth.
- Kenzie Chappell connected on three hits, Shea Bayreuther drove two, and Ashely Autuori, Jess Jaruszewski, and Erin Chambliss each had one.
- Curley recorded four RBI while Autuori had two.
- Kylie Ferguson (8-5) earned the win for the Mountain Lions. Ferguson pitched a seven-inning shutout - her second of the weekend - and struck out two.
