YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's lacrosse team fell to Emmanuel (Ga.) College 11-10 Thursday (March 24) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Mountain Lions fell to 0-9, while Emmanuel improved to 2-7. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (April 2) with a 2 p.m. Peach Belt Conference contest against Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Gunnar Fagerstrom led the Mountain Lions with four goals, Tommy Chriszt recorded two, while Wyatt Peek, Alex Buchanan, Nic Baker, and Jeremy Rice had one goal each.
- Chriszt led in assists with four, while Fagerstrom and Kieran Isbister each had one.
- Jacob Haas led YHC with 12 ground balls. Ben Soenen and Isbister each scooped up four.
- Soenen racked up three caused turnovers, while Malcolm Henke tallied two.
- Dylan Wilbur played 60 minutes in goal and had 16 saves.
- Fagerstrom gave YHC the 5-4 lead off an assist from Chriszt with 7:51 remaining in the second period.
- The Lions tied it up and went on to take the lead 6-5 on a Jared Weiss goal to wrap up the half.
- EC led YHC 10-8 after the third period.
- Young Harris answered in the fourth period with two goals. A Peek goal off a Chriszt assist cut the deficit to 10-9, but a Lion goal by Devon Roberts gave EC its final goal to win the game.
- Despite being two men down, Chriszt scored the final YHC goal to pull the Mountain Lions within a goal at 11-10, but couldn't get any closer.
