MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. | The Young Harris College softball team split a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader against Georgia College Sunday (March 13) afternoon at the Peeler Complex.
YHC won game one 6-4 and lost game two 3-2.
Young Harris fell to 10-10 overall and 3-3 in the Peach Belt, while Georgia College improved to 9-15 and 1-5. The Mountain Lions are back in action Saturday (March 19) at the YHC Softball Field with a 4 p.m. PBC contest against the University of South Carolina-Aiken.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
GAME 1
- Grace Young and Jordan Campagnolo led the Mountain Lion offense with two hits and combined for three of the YHC runs.
- Morgan Curley and Young recorded two RBI, while Campagnolo and Ashley Autouri had one each.
- Kylie Ferguson (2-3) earned the win in the circle for Young Harris. Ferguson pitched six innings allowed three hits and struck out one.
- Sam Davis tallied her second save of the season as she recorded the final three outs.
GAME 2
- Young led YHC with two hits, while Kenzie Chappell, Morgan Curley, Shea Bayreuther, and Karah Struab had one. Straub hit a triple - her first of the season – in the fifth inning.
- Curley's single through the right side in the first inning put the Mountain Lions up 1-0. YHC scored its final run in the third inning after a Bobcat throwing error.
- Jill Dixon (4-5) recorded the loss for YHC. Dixon pitched five innings, allowed four hits and struck out two.
