Balanced attack leads YHC to fifth win of the season

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's basketball team used a balanced attack as the Mountain Lions remained undefeated with their 64-50 non-conference victory over Mars Hill University Tuesday (Nov. 22) evening at the Harp Recreation and Commencement Center.

The Mountain Lions, who were playing their first game at home this season, improved to 5-0, while the Lions fell to 2-3. YHC returns to action Dec. 4 when they travel to Wise, Virginia, to face the University of Virginia's College at Wise for a 1 p.m. contest.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
  • Nate Dunlop led the Mountain Lions with 14 points, while Josh Petteno and Lenny Pradia each tossed in 13 more. Dunlop sank four of eight three-pointers for YHC.
  • Petteno led YHC with nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocked shots.
  • Young Harris recorded seven blocked shots as Turahn Thompson posted two, while Karl Chavis, Kennedy Willis and Cameron Bleshoy corralled one each.
  • YHC outrebounded Mars Hill 34-32 and scored 22 points off 17 MHU turnovers.
  • The Mountain Lions used a 12-2 run midway through the second half to break the game open as YHC took a 17-point lead (49-32) - its largest of the night - after Pradia sank two free throws. The closest that Mars Hill would get the remainder of the game was 11 points.
