SALISBURY, N.C. | A balanced scoring attack led the Young Harris College men's basketball team to a 76-48 victory over Erskine College Saturday (Nov. 19) evening at Goodman Gym on the final day of the Catawba Classic.
The Mountain Lions improved to 4-0 overall with their fourth consecutive win over a Conference Carolinas opponent. The 4-0 start is the best since Young Harris started the 2013-14 campaign with four wins in a row. The Flying Fleet fell to 0-5. Young Harris returns to the Harp Recreation and Commencement Center Tuesday (Nov. 22) for its home opener against Mars Hill University at 7 p.m.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Erskine took a 1-0 lead - its only one of the game - 23 seconds into the game, before the Mountain Lions took control with 15 unanswered points to open a 15-1 lead on a Christian Schach three-pointer ith 14:01 left in the opening 20 minutes.
- The Mountain Lions expanded their lead to 24 points (44-20) on a Schach long ball with 49 seconds before the half. YHC led by as many as 28 points (72-40) after Sam Conley connected on a jumper late in the game.
- Karl Chavis led four Mountain Lions in double figures with 14 points and nearly had a double double as he grabbed nine rebounds. Nate Dunlop posted 12 points, six rebounds and six assists for YHC, while Lenny Pradia and Schach accounted for 10 points each. Pradia also pulled down six rebounds.
