Jessie Homesley has announced
Sam Davis as an assistant coach.
"Sam was an excellent player and teammate within our program and I am excited for Sam to continue on in our program in a new capacity," said Homesley. "Her knowledge and skills as pitcher and her love for YHC will make an immediate impact within our program."
Davis pitched for the Mountain Lions for three seasons, winning 18 games in 55 appearances (31 starts). She compiled a 3.98 earned-run average with 10 complete games, six saves and two complete games. Davis recorded 188 strikeouts in 186.2 innings of work. She was named to the Peach Belt Conference's Pitcher of the Week twice in her career.
Davis, who earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics in 2021, was named to was twice named to the PBC Softball Team of Academic Distinction and was named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll three times. She also earned the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award twice in her career.
Prior to YHC, Davis played softball at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for two seasons where won 21 games with 306 strikeouts. She was named to the all-conference and all-region teams in 2019.
