Start times for super regionals at Lincoln Memorial announced

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The start times have been announced for the NCAA Division II Softball Southeast Super Regionals between Young Harris College and Lincoln Memorial University that will be held in Harrogate, Tennessee, later this week.

The best-of-three super regional will be played at the Dorothy Neely Softball Complex. Lincoln Memorial, which is the No. 3 seed in the regional, is 38-13 after capturing the Southeast Regional No. 2 tournament in Jefferson City, Tennessee, while the Mountain Lions, who are seeded No. 5 in the region, enter the super regional at 40-18 after defeating No. 5 University of North Georgia twice en route to winning the Southeast Regional No. 1 tournament in Dahlonega, Georgia.

Game one is set for 4:30 p.m. Thursday (May 16), while game two is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday (May 17). An if necessary game will follow at 4:30 p.m. if needed.

The winner of the super regional will advance to the NCAA Division II Softball Championship May 23-27 at the Regency Athletic Complex in Denver, Colorado.

The two teams split their regular season meetings in Harrogate Feb. 24. The Mountain Lions took the opener 5-4 before Lincoln Memorial took the nightcap 5-0. YHC leads the all-time series that dates back to the 2012 season with the Raisplitters 4-3.

This is the first appearance for the Railsplitters, who are also making their first-ever trip to the NCAA postseason in 2019,  in the super regional since NCAA Division II adopted the current format in 2009. This will be the second appearance in the super regionals for the Mountain Lions, who are making their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
