MOUNT BERRY, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's cross country team finished in second place at the Berry Invitational Saturday (Oct. 17) morning.
Young Harris posted a second-place finish out of 15 teams in the meet with 150 points, while Emory University claimed the top spot in the meet with 35.
Nancy Murgor led the Mountain Lions in the 5K race on the Clara Bowl course with a second-place and personal best time of 22:08.80.
Nicole Smith also recorded a top-20 effort as she came in 15th place with a time of 23:04.83.
Jessie Fortner came in 30th place with a time of 24:17.46 while
Rachel Boulineau was 43rd (personal best 24:56.91) and
Claire Warren in 48th (25:01.90).
Savannah Hardin was next in 75th place with a time of 26:04.78 and was followed by
Ciara Wood (85th, 26:23.00) and
Sarah Williford (140th, 29:26.33).
The Mountain Lions will return to action next Saturday (Oct, 24) when they compete in the 2015 Peach Belt Conference Championship in Gainesville, Georgia.
