Mountain Lions Placed 9th at the Conference Carolinas Championship

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. | The Young Harris College women's cross country team continued its season with a strong showing at the 2025 Conference Carolinas Championship on Friday (Oct. 24) at the Ivey Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, North Carolina. 

The Mountain Lions placed ninth overall with a team score of 235 points and a total time of 2:13:41.81, averaging 26:44.37 per runner across the 6K championship course. YH managed to out-pace Emmanuel University, earning valuable Roar War points! The race featured a competitive field, and Young Harris showcased its youth and potential with six runners finishing in the top 70. 

Freshman Brynley Walraven led the way for YHC, placing 30th overall with a time of 25:14.52. Fellow freshman Lilian Arnold followed in 47th place (26:44.72), while Rylie Cheek (58rd, 27:17.38), Piper Marsingill (59th, 27:25.08), Julia Hargrove (65th, 27:52.14), and Chesney Johnson (75th, 28:40.08) rounded out the scoring for the Mountain Lions.
