SPARTANBURG, SC| The Young Harris College women's cross country team competed bright and early Saturday (Oct. 26) morning at Milliken Research Park for the Conference Carolinas Championship. The women got underway at 9:00 a.m., and after resting their top six runners at the Nooga at Night Invite, the Mountain Lions finished in 9th of 13 teams in the conference championship. North Greenville took home first place, with 43 total points.Â
QUOTE FROM DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD/CROSS COUNTRY MATT LOGAN:Â
"We were here 5 weeks ago and the transformation from then to now speaks to the character of our women. They were really good today. If they continue to run for each other and stay together this group is going to be really good." Continuing, "Julia, Natalie, and Emma are a great freshman trio moving forward. We continue to see big improvement from our entire women's team. It wouldn't make sense if I didn't also mention Caroline Bass, who did everything right this year and got unlucky right at the end of the season. She did everything she could to get to the starting line because she loves our team. Our sport isn't always fair. She'll be back even stronger in the spring. I love coaching this team."Â
