Nancy Murgor won the individual title as the Mountain Lions finished second at the Division II Georgia Collegiate Women's Cross Country Championship Saturday (Oct. 10) morning.
The Mountain Lions, who are ranked No. 10 in the USTFCCCA Division II Southeast Regional rankings, finished with 56 points while Columbus State University won the meets with 45.
Murgor posted a personal-best 6K time of 22:28.7 to win the race by 31 seconds. It's the first time in two seasons that a YHC runner had captured a race.
In addition to Murgor, Young Harris had two other top-10 finishes in the women's meet.
Nicole Smith came in fourth place with a time of 23:24.6 while
Jessie Fortner was 10th with a time of 24:39.5.
Claire Warren came in 22nd place with a time of 25:49.2 while
Rachel Boulineau was 24th with a time of 26:01.7.
Savannah Hardin had a personal-best time of 26:15.4 and came in 28th place while
Sarah Williford came in 64th with a time of 29:55.8.
The Mountain Lions will return to action next Saturday (Oct, 17) when they compete in the Berry Invitational in Mount Berry, Georgia.
