DUE WEST, S.C. | The No. 43 Young Harris College women's tennis team earned a hard-fought 4-3 victory on the road over Erskine on March 28, remaining undefeated in Conference Carolinas play at 8-0.
The Mountain Lions secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Futaba Saito and Maud Scholten dominated 6-1 at the top spot, while Holly Ashford and Viviana Gomez added a 6-3 victory at No. 3.
In singles play, Young Harris picked up three key wins to clinch the match. Saito delivered a strong performance at No. 1 with a 7-6, 7-6 victory, while Ashford earned a straight-set win at No. 4 (6-2, 6-3). Callie Stanfield sealed the team win at No. 6 with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 result.
With the win, the Mountain Lions improved to 12-5 overall and remain unbeaten in Conference Carolinas action.
