YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College senior Cameron Bleshoy has been named the 2025-26 Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first Mountain Lion in program history to earn the league's top defensive honor. Bleshoy joins teammate Carl Cleveland as major award winners this season, marking the first time in program history that Young Harris has had multiple Conference Carolinas major award recipients in the same year.
Bleshoy was a dominant presence on the glass throughout the season, finishing with 275 total rebounds, which ranks second in Conference Carolinas and ninth in NCAA Division II. His average of 9.8 rebounds per game ranks second in the conference and 15th nationally.
The senior from Marietta, Georgia recorded 15 games with at least 10 rebounds during the season, including a season-high 20-rebound performance against Belmont Abbey on December 6. His defensive presence extended beyond rebounding as he finished the regular season with 28 total blocks, ranking third in Conference Carolinas, while averaging 1.00 blocks per game, fourth in the league.
Bleshoy's consistent defensive impact was recognized throughout the year as he earned Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week honors five times.
In addition to anchoring the Mountain Lions defensively, Bleshoy averaged 8.5 points per game while shooting an impressive .720 from the field across the regular season.
Standing 6-4 and weighing 225 pounds, Bleshoy has been a cornerstone of the Mountain Lions' defense all season, helping lead Young Harris with his physical presence, rebounding dominance, and rim protection.
