YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's lacrosse team fell to Lees-McRae 17-6 on Saturday afternoon at home, dropping to 2-10 overall and 1-3 in Conference Carolinas play.
Lees-McRae (8-5, 5-1) controlled the game from the opening whistle, scoring the first seven goals of the contest and taking a 7-0 lead after the first quarter. The Bobcats extended their advantage to 12-2 at halftime and never looked back.
Colburn Connelly led the Mountain Lions with two goals, while Cason Diamond, Grady Stokes, Leo Rios, and Mathias Clark each added one. Stokes and Gunnar Fagerstrom recorded assists for Young Harris.
Defensively, Jonah Polhemus made 16 saves in the first half, while Thomas Castiglia added six stops over the final 30 minutes.
Lees-McRae was paced by Cole Morris, who finished with four goals and two assists, while Mark Henderson added three goals and an assist.
