YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions came up just short in a hard-fought non-conference battle on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 7), falling 13–10 to Thomas More Saints at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
Young Harris traded punches early and stayed within striking distance throughout, but Thomas More used consistent scoring across all four quarters to hold off a late Mountain Lion push. With the loss, Young Harris moves to 0–2 on the season, while Thomas More improves to 1–0.
The opening quarter featured back-and-forth action, as the Mountain Lions answered Thomas More goals three times to end the period trailing just 4–3. The Saints created separation in the second quarter, outscoring Young Harris 3–0 to take a 7–3 lead into halftime.
Young Harris responded in the third, scoring three times behind goals from Mathias Clark and Colburn Connelly, but Thomas More continued to answer, carrying a 10–6 advantage into the final frame. The Mountain Lions found the net four times in the fourth quarter, including goals from Connelly, Noah Elam, Grady Stokes, and Knox Holston, but the Saints were able to close out the win.

• Mathias Clark led the Mountain Lions with three goals, including a man-up score in the first quarter.
• Colburn Connelly finished with two goals and two assists to pace Young Harris with four points.
• Grady Stokes recorded a goal and three assists, while Reese Rainey, Knox Holston, Gunnar Fagerstrom, and Noah Elam each added a goal.
• Young Harris outshot Thomas More 36–35 and collected 33 ground balls.
• Thomas Castiglia made four saves in the first half, while Jonah Polhemus recorded six saves over the final 30 minutes in goal.
• Thomas More was led by Spencer Lethbridge with four goals, while Eric Wong added three goals and two assists.
