Mountain Lions Roll Past Lees-McRae, 91–62, at The Harp

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions Men's Basketball team delivered a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 7), cruising to a 91–62 Conference Carolinas victory over the Lees-McRae Bobcats at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center. 

Young Harris controlled the game on both ends of the floor, shooting efficiently throughout and pulling away in the second half to improve to 15–6 overall and 11–2 in Conference Carolinas play. Lees-McRae drops to 9–14 overall and 6–9 in league action. 

The Mountain Lions opened the contest with a 42–29 halftime lead and followed with 49 points in the second half, shooting better than 60 percent after the break to secure the wire-to-wire win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Carl Cleveland led all scorers with 25 points, adding 11 rebounds, four assists, and a steal for another double-double effort. 

Justin Payne finished with 17 points, knocking down four three-pointers and dishing out five assists. 

Cameron Bleshoy was perfect from the field, going 4-for-4 while adding 14 points and seven rebounds. 

Jalen Ware provided a strong lift off the bench with 12 points and six rebounds. 

Kelvin Hunter added eight points, connecting on two three-pointers in 12 minutes. 

• Young Harris shot 59.3 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from three-point range. 

• The Mountain Lions outscored Lees-McRae 44–22 in the paint and held a 37–25 rebounding advantage. 

• Lees-McRae was led by Cedric Patterson with 19 points, while Dwight Canady Jr. added 17.
