Late Push Falls Short Against Mount Olive

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris battled throughout Monday evening but came up just short in an 84-80 Conference Carolinas loss to Mount Olive inside The Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.

The game featured eight ties and six lead changes, with the Mountain Lions responding repeatedly after Mount Olive runs. Young Harris shot an efficient 52.6 percent from the field and scored 40 points in the paint, but Mount Olive's free throw efficiency and 45 bench points proved decisive down the stretch.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Carl Cleveland led all scorers with 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting, adding 8 rebounds while knocking down all six free throws.

• Justin Payne finished with 20 points and a team-high 6 assists, contributing across the board despite heavy defensive pressure.

• Christian Drummer delivered an efficient performance with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting and dished out 7 assists.

• Cameron Bleshoy was perfect from the field (3-of-3) for 6 points while adding 3 rebounds and 2 blocks.

• Jalen Ware grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds to go with 5 points and 3 assists, helping anchor the interior.

• Kelvin Hunter provided a spark off the bench with 7 points on 3-of-6 shooting, including a three-pointer.

• Young Harris shot over 50 percent in both halves but converted just five three-pointers and went 15-of-23 at the free throw line.
