Mountain Lions Take Down NGU 77–66 in Key Conference Home Win

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions delivered a statement victory on Monday night (Feb. 16), defeating North Greenville 77–66 inside The Harp. With the win, Young Harris improves to 18-6 overall and 14-2 in Conference Carolinas play, strengthening its position near the top of the league standings. 

The Mountain Lions controlled the game from the outset, taking a 38–28 lead into halftime and never surrendering it. Young Harris shot an efficient 46.6 percent from the field and knocked down 16-of-19 free throws (84.2 percent), while holding North Greenville to just 22.2 percent from beyond the arc. 

Young Harris dominated the glass with a 38–19 rebounding advantage and turned second-chance opportunities into 14 points. The Mountain Lions also outscored the Trailblazers 36–34 in the paint and limited NGU to just one lead change and zero ties throughout the contest. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Justin Payne and Jalen Ware each scored 15 points to lead the Mountain Lions. 

Christian Drummer added 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists. 

Kelvin Hunter provided a huge spark off the bench with 14 points, knocking down four three-pointers. 

Cameron Bleshoy recorded a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. 

• Young Harris outrebounded North Greenville 38–19 and scored 14 second-chance points.
