BRISTOL, Tenn. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions delivered a dominant offensive performance on Wednesday night (Jan. 21), rolling to a 115–94 Conference Carolinas road victory over King University Tornado at the Student Center Complex.
Young Harris set the tone early and never looked back, shooting better than 70 percent in the first half while building a 53–34 advantage at the break. The Mountain Lions followed with 62 points in the second half to improve to 12–6 overall and 8–2 in Conference Carolinas play, while King dropped to 5–12 overall and 3–6 in the league.
Carl Cleveland and Justin Payne put together a historic scoring display, combining for 78 points as Young Harris scored a season-high 115 points under head coach Jeremy Currier!
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
• Carl Cleveland poured in a game-high 40 points (tied YH single-game record for second time this season) on 14-of-22 shooting, knocking down three three-pointers and going a perfect 9-of-9 at the free-throw line while adding 12 rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
• Justin Payne scored a career-high 38 points, shooting 11-of-18 from the field, 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, and a flawless 11-of-11 at the line.
• Cleveland and Payne accounted for 78 of Young Harris' 115 points, combining to shoot 25-of-40 from the floor.
• Young Harris shot 58.6 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from three-point range, while converting 36 free throws.
• Cameron Bleshoy controlled the glass with 15 rebounds to go along with four assists.
• The Mountain Lions finished with a 47–30 rebounding advantage and scored 24 second-chance points.
• King was led by Lenier Pocknett with 26 points, while Jordan Akal added 20.
