Cleveland Leads High-Powered Young Harris Offense in Road Win Over Francis Marion

FLORENCE, SC| This afternoon (Jan. 10th) the Mountain Lions Men's Basketball team hit the road for a Conference Carolinas matchup with Francis Marion University. Young Harris emerged victorious in the matchup, fueled by a high-octane offense with Carl Cleveland tying the Young Harris Men's Basketball D2-era record for points in a game with 40 points in today's game.  

Young Harris now moves to 10-5 overall and are 6-1 in Conference Carolinas while Francis Marion falls to 3-11 overall and 3-3 in Conference Carolinas. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

  • Young Harris takes down Francis Marion by the final score of 107-86. 

  • Carl Cleveland led all scorers in the game with a career-high 40 points on an extremely efficient 12-16 from the field and 7-8 from the three-point line. 

  • Justin Payne had an impressive 21 points to go along with three assists and three steals. 

  • Jalen Ware posted a double-double for the Mountain Lions, scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. 

  • Christian Drummer facilitated the offense for Young Harris with an 11-assist and 11-point double-double. 

  • Young Harris shot an impressive 63% from the field and three-point range, leading to an impressive 21-point victory. 

  • The Mountain Lions won the rebounding battle, grabbing 35 boards to 24 for FMU.
