YOUNG HARRIS COLLEGE TENNIS TEAM'S EARN ITA ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS

7/23/2025 11:32:00 AM

GREENVILLE, S.C.| Young Harris College continued its tradition of academic excellence on the court, as both the men's and women's tennis teams were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as 2025 Division II ITA All-Academic Teams. In addition, 16 Mountain Lions were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

To qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, a program must maintain a team GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.00 scale, with all varsity letter winners factored into the cumulative GPA. For individual honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.5 GPA and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

MEN'S TENNIS:

The Young Harris men's tennis program was one of just seven teams in Conference Carolinas to be recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team, a reflection of the group's strong commitment to performance in the classroom. Nine student-athletes earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2024-25 academic year: Parker Rowan, Greyson Williams, Nils Vercruyssen, Mason Harmon, Gregor Gottein, Caleb McCurry, Holden Hall, Samuel Guzon, and Noah Pawirodirjo

In addition to his academic recognition, Pawirodirjo was also named to the Conference Carolinas Third Team All-Conference after a strong season on the court. The Mountain Lions' balance of academic discipline and competitive success continues to be a staple of the tennis team's culture.

WOMEN'S TENNIS:

The Young Harris women's tennis team also earned ITA All-Academic Team honors after maintaining a team GPA above the 3.2 threshold. Seven student-athletes were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes, reflecting both individual academic achievement and the team's dedication to excellence.

Among the honorees were Futaba Saito, who was named a First Team All-Conference selection, and Maud Scholten, who earned Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and was selected to the Third Team All-Conference. They were joined by Andreia Semeano, Viviana Gomez, Isabella Ezeta, Simone Mercier, and Holly Ashford, rounding out a group that excelled both in the classroom and in competition.
