ASHEVILLE, N.C. | The Young Harris College men's and women's track & field teams continued their outdoor campaign with strong showings at the Asheville Bulldog Invitational, hosted at the Karl Straus Track. Competing in their final full-team tune-up before the postseason, the Mountain Lions notched multiple personal bests across a competitive field.

QUOTE FROM DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD MATT LOGAN:
"It was a big weekend for us. I think every athlete on the team had a personal best on Friday night. I was especially excited for the women in the 5k. Aidan Vrazel and Potter also had big nights. Saturday was equally as good. We had several life time bests and season bests. Noah Scheuer had a big day. His big swing really paid off."

Women's Highlights:

  • Harper Hubbard ran a personal-best 13.53 seconds in the 100-meter dash, continuing to make strides in the sprints.

  • In the 800 meters, Brynley Walraven (19th) led the Mountain Lions with a 2:25.72 mark, while Piper Marsingill set a new PR in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:31.29. Brianna Dalton also posted her season-best in the same race (6:06.46).

Men's Highlights:

  • Freshman Ryder Holland posted an impressive personal best of 2:00.05 in the 800 meters, placing 13th overall. Fellow freshman Noah Scheuer (22nd) also logged a PR in the same race at 2:02.45.

  • In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Xander Potter shaved off significant time for a new personal best of 10:11.98 to place sixth.

  • Matthew Honeycutt had a breakthrough in the 5,000-meter run, finishing with a PR of 16:02.79 in a loaded field.
