Mountain Lions Fall to Anderson on Education Day at The Harp

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College women's basketball hosted Anderson University for Education Day on Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 10) at The Harp, but a strong fourth-quarter surge by the Trojans handed the Mountain Lions a 69–58 loss. 

With the hard-fought loss, Young Harris moves to 5–4 overall and 2–2 in Conference Carolinas play, while Anderson improves to 4–3 and 1–1 in the South Atlantic Conference. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Kamryn Bates paced Young Harris with 18 points, hitting four three-pointers and adding five rebounds and four assists. 

  • Chassidy Fedd controlled the glass with 12 rebounds and five assists. 

  • The Mountain Lions shot 35.5 percent (22-for-62) from the field and 29 percent (9-for-31) from beyond the arc. 

  • Anderson connected on 43.6 percent (24-for-55) overall and 38.1 percent (8-for-21) from deep. 

  • Young Harris led 49–42 heading into the fourth quarter, but Anderson exploded for 27 points in the final period, shooting 57 percent. 

  • Kyla Cain was instrumental in the comeback, scoring 15 points and going 6-for-10 from the line, while Peytyn Oliver added 16 points with four triples. 

  • The Trojans capitalized on Mountain Lion turnovers, scoring 25 points off 19 giveaways.
