YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's indoor track and field team has been selected to finish 12th in the 2025-26 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
The Mountain Lions earned 52 points in the poll after finishing 11th at last season's Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Championships. The University of Mount Olive was picked to win its second consecutive title, collecting 196 points and 14 first-place votes, while Converse University claimed the remaining first-place vote and was projected second with 180 points.
Young Harris enters its second season under the leadership of Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Matt Logan and assistant coach Dylan Dicicco, looking to build on last year's progress. The Mountain Lions return standout sophomore Brynley Walraven (Calhoun, Ga.), who capped her freshman campaign with a second-place finish in the 800-meter run at the conference championships (2:25.42). Walraven will be joined by promising freshmen Ryan Singh (Paramus, N.J.) and Lilian Arnold (Gulf Breeze, Fla.), giving Young Harris a mix of experience and new talent.
The Mountain Lions will compete in a challenging 2025-26 schedule that begins December 7 at the JDL Early Bird Invitational at JDL Fast Track, followed by the Mondo College Invitational on January 17. The indoor season continues with the Camel City Distance (Feb. 7) and the Centre Indoor Invite & Multis (Feb. 14-15). The season culminates at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Championships, set for February 22-23 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Young Harris aims to continue its upward trajectory and make an impact in year two of their young program.
